Why Workshops
- To help individuals with tax debts
- A different and informal approach
- To present information about the collection process and tax debt options
Other than a tax attorney, CPA or enrolled agent, there are not many places to go when you owe taxes and have questions. The above options all charge by the hour and some will require a retainer. After 34 years with the IRS, I realized there is nowhere to go for help or questions about tax debts. This is why I decided to offer workshops that will answer questions and provide information to help resolve tax issues. Many people are not aware of the 6 options or the 10 year statute or different ways to challenge a liability. My goal is to provide a venue where people can feel comfortable to ask questions and learn about collection issues and tools to help them resolve their tax debts.
This approach, using workshops to educate the public, is something no one has done before. Rather than one on one with a professional, I believe these workshops will help me reach more people at a very reasonable price. And because they are open to anyone, all attendees can learn from shared questions during our discussions. Individuals can come just to listen or they can come with a list of questions, either way the information discussed is very valuable and informative.
Even if you go to a professional, they will not give you this much information in the 2 to 3 hours you spend with them. These workshops include information about the collection process like levies, liens, appeals, statutes and withholding, along with options for resolution. Not only do you have the opportunity to ask questions, but you will be given a list of questions to ask when you call about your account. All this information will help you be prepared to resolve your account with minimal time spent on the phone.
So, if you are ready to tackle your tax debt and resolve the taxes owed, call Collection Alternatives to sign up for a workshop.
