    September Budgeting Tip:

Some people say why save my money now, when I have places to go and things to see. Sure we all have places we want to go, but to spend without saving could be financially harmful to one's future. Take a few minutes and think about your future income during your 60s and 70s, seriously. Did you pay into Social Security, you can look online to see what your monthly payment will be. Do you have a pension, check on your HR website to see how much your monthly payment will be. Do you have a 401K or IRA, run a calculation to estimate how much you will have at any given age. If you do not have any of these, it is time to think about where your income will come from during your 60s and 70s, unless you plan on working past 70. Talk with someone you know who is still working in their 70s, is it a choice or necessary, what would they have done differently. Then talk with someone who retired early, ask how they prepared for retirement and what they would recommend to be prepared. You can learn alot from talking to someone. Good luck.
