August Budgeting Tip:
While budgeting is all about prioritizing your purchases, saving can be a state of mind. There is alot of talk about Social Security and how much will be available in the future. That is why thinking about retirmenet in your 30s, 40s and 50s can be very beneficial. You may not have a pension, but you can put money in an IRA or 401K, which will grow over time. Reducing Social Security and/or raising the full retirmenet age will reduce future payments, which means you need to think about other sources of income and what kind of expenses you will have in your 60s and 70s. Talk to your parents or grandparents to get an idea of the struggles and decisions they made, this will help you better understand what can happen when you do not prepare for retirement. Good luck.
