For example, statutes play a very important part when setting up an installment agreement, if the statute is short then the payment will be larger than if the statute is longer. Your appeal rights may provide you with an opportunity to dispute the liability, if you have not had a prior opportunity. Once a lien is filed, it cannot be removed unless filed in error or the balance if full paid, which makes it important to consider when entering an installment agreement, especially if you own real property and do not want a lien filed.
